This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how LaneTrax Inc. ("LaneTrax," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes information in connection with the LaneTrax iOS mobile application (the "Application") and related services. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy.

Our Commitment to You. At LaneTrax, we believe your privacy matters. We have designed these practices with the goal of keeping your data secure while enabling us to continuously improve LaneTrax and deliver a better experience for bowlers everywhere. We strive to be transparent about the information we collect and how we use it, and we are committed to implementing reasonable safeguards to protect your data.

1. Scope and Applicability

This Policy applies to all personal information and other data collected, processed, or maintained through the Application and any related services, websites, or platforms owned or controlled by LaneTrax. This Policy does not apply to third-party websites, applications, or services that may be linked to or integrated with the Application.

2. Categories of Information Collected

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Shot and Video Data: Video recordings of bowlers throwing shots; video frames; thumbnails; frame-level and sensor-level analytics; derived model outputs; and annotations.
  • Engagement and Usage Analytics: Session events; taps and clicks; screens viewed; time spent in-app; navigation funnels; referral and UTM data; campaign and notification engagement; crash reports; diagnostic logs; and device performance metrics.
  • Identifiers and Device Data: Device model and manufacturer; operating system type and version; Application version; IP address; device identifiers; locale and language settings; time zone; and coarse location approximations.
  • Account and Purchase Data: Name; email address; authentication identifiers and tokens; in-app purchase status; subscription tier; and renewal, cancellation, and transaction events.
  • Communications Data: Support requests; feedback submissions; survey responses; and marketing preferences.

3. Purposes for Processing Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Service Provision and Operations: To provide, operate, maintain, and deliver the Application and its features; to process subscriptions and transactions; and to secure and protect the Application.
  • Machine Learning and Computer Vision Development: To develop, train, improve, and enhance computer vision models, machine learning algorithms, and AI systems that power the Application's bowling analytics features.
  • Analytics and Product Improvement: To measure performance and usage; to debug issues; to develop, test, and improve new and existing features; and to conduct research and analysis.
  • Marketing and Promotional Activities: To create marketing content; to advertise and promote LaneTrax; to personalize marketing communications; and to measure campaign performance.
  • Safety, Security, and Legal Compliance: To prevent fraud and abuse; to enforce our Terms; to comply with applicable laws; and to protect rights, property, and safety.

4. Video and Shot Data — Collection, Use, and Purpose

4.1 Collection and Storage. We collect and store shot data and video recordings of bowling activity captured, uploaded, or processed via the Application, together with derived analytics, metadata, and annotations (collectively, "Bowling Content").

4.2 Primary Purpose — Machine Learning. The primary purpose for which we collect and use Bowling Content is to develop, train, improve, and enhance computer vision models, machine learning algorithms, and AI systems that power the Application's features and future product development.

4.3 Additional Uses. We may use Bowling Content for: (a) product development, testing, and improvement; (b) research and analysis; (c) marketing and promotional activities; and (d) other commercial or non-commercial purposes consistent with this Policy.

4.4 Privacy Safeguards. When Bowling Content is used beyond providing services directly to you, we implement appropriate safeguards including: (a) de-identification or anonymization; (b) facial blurring or masking; (c) removal of identifying metadata; and (d) contractual restrictions on re-identification. We reserve the right to use Bowling Content in identifiable form for internal purposes.

4.5 No Compensation. You acknowledge that LaneTrax shall have no obligation to provide any compensation, attribution, or notification for its use of Bowling Content.

5. Disclosure and Sharing of Information

5.1 Categories of Disclosures. We may disclose personal information to: (a) service providers and processors; (b) research partners and technology providers; (c) business partners for analytics and measurement; (d) as required by law; and (e) in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

5.2 Data Licensing. We may license, transfer, or make available de-identified or anonymized data to third parties for commercial purposes, including machine learning development and research.

5.3 Opt-Out Rights. Where required by law, we provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" mechanism and honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control.

6. Legal Bases for Processing

Our processing of your information may be based on:

  • Contract Performance: Processing necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • Legitimate Interests: Processing necessary for security, fraud prevention, analytics, product improvement, and marketing.
  • Legal Obligations: Processing necessary to comply with applicable laws.
  • Consent: Processing based on your consent where required.

7. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide and operate the Application, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and exercise or defend legal claims.

8. Third-Party Services and SDKs

The Application uses third-party SDKs and services. These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies:

  • Meta (Facebook) SDK — Analytics, attribution, and app event tracking. Privacy Policy

8.1 Data Shared with Third-Party Services

Data transmitted to these providers may include device identifiers, advertising identifiers, IP addresses, user identifiers, screens viewed, session data, app events, subscription events, and crash metrics.

8.2 Advertising and Attribution Partners

We work with advertising partners including Meta, AppsFlyer, and Google to measure advertising effectiveness and optimize marketing efforts. Where required by law, we will request your consent before sharing certain identifiers for cross-app tracking.

8.3 Advertising and Tracking Controls

You may limit ad tracking through your iOS device settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking). You may also disable IDFA or opt out of personalized advertising.

9. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights:

  • Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing: Opt out via in-app settings, our website, or by emailing contact@lanetrax.app.
  • Right to Access: Request information about the personal information we have collected about you.
  • Right to Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
  • Marketing Communications: Opt out via unsubscribe links or by contacting us.

10. Children's Privacy

The Application is not directed to children under thirteen (13). If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us at contact@lanetrax.app.

11. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries with different data protection laws. By using the Application, you consent to such transfers.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may modify this Policy at any time. Material changes will be posted in the Application and/or on our website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
